spark plug part #
spark plug part #
I'm looking for some NGK copper plugs for my VQ35. I'm used to the BKR5E-11s that go in the SR20s, but the VQ uses longer plugs.
02 Maxima engine, I've been having trouble finding NGKs standard copper plug. Additionally, I need a colder plug, e.g. 6 heat range rather than 5.
Discount Auto gave me these numbers, but I was unable to find the 6 heat range version:
Platinum (expensive and not worth it): PLFR5A-11
Copper: LFR5A-11
but they couldn't find anything for 6A.
Please help.

sorry, but I don't have access privileges to use the sacred search feature despite being a member for over 5 years. That link is dead.
I tried google search feature up under search and whenever I click on a relevant topic, it links me to a completely unrelated thread.
If someone could answer that here, I'd appreciate it, otherwise, maxima.org's internet is broken.

wow, 6 replies and I got hardly anywhere.
I repeat, the google search is ****, I typed in my keywords, it returned all relevant results, I click on a link labeles "spark plugs" it takes me to a thread about K&N filters, I click on another spark plug link, it takes me to a thread about Porche 944s. Please don't tell me to search on a forum that does not enable searching.
It seems that LFR5A-11 is correct after all, I just need to find someone who sells 6A plugs.
Few more explanations. I prefer copper plugs over platinum and iridium. at $2/plug, I can change them out every 10k and get better spark and performance out of them in that period. I perfer 6 heat range plugs because 5s are for daily driving with tons of idling, my car is built for the track, sustained high RPMs and higher power aspirations in the future. For the record, most of the SE-R guys use 5 for daily driving, 6 for racing and higher performance, 7 for high boost and nitrous.

(no not Maxima.rg specific google, that would be
since these plugs are sold in other vast markets, and are not Maxima specific
) and got so many hits, I figured/hoped it was that easy, and I hoped you had enough sense to do that as well. It would have taken 12 seconds of your time. Apparently that was not the case. We have a thread for spoon feeding, and this isn't it.
For VQ30's, yes, 2$ is feasible, but I haven't been able to find these (VQ35) for that price, BUT, I haven't looked that hard. Last time they were 6$/piece.I can change them out every 10k and get better spark and performance out of them in that period. The Choir has now heard the preacher.
I'm going to check around today, Advance Auto has the 6's on special order for about $4. I typically get my BKR's at 1.50-1.75/ea.
I'm only going by the numbers me and the other SR20 guys use, since most SR20 guys are into boost. Not preaching anything, just telling you that I prefer 6's on a car that's going to spend 90% of its life on the track.
