Had a friendly chat with the Police tonight

Kinda funny little incident. Well, I was at the Sheets gas station with 3 other friends and I had my Alien Scanner (check out Varad.com, then click EL scanners for more info) turned on after I left my car. So later I'm walking out to my car with my friends as we eat our shmiscuts (very good btw), and as the cop is leaving, he stops his car in front of mine for a couple minutes. I know hes running some type of check. Then he puts his window down and says, "Just to let you know, thats illegal." He tries telling me that its only legal if its facing inside the car, not outside. Then I tell him that its hooked up to my alarm and only turns on when I lock my car and its never on when my car is moving. The cop is like, "Ohhh, then that's perfectly ok. I just ran a check on it because It caught my eye, I've never seen that before. I like it a lot, its very cool."
I laugh and say, "Well officer, I could install one on your Impala if you want." The cop just laughs and says, "I wish. You kids take it easy." And then he left. Very cool guy.

Just goes to show you that not all cops are out to get younger drivers.

Don't mind me officer...I'm just an old guy with a slow four-door sedan. Oh, that??? That's just a whole in my exhaust thingy. Nothing to be concerned about...

Officer: We are looking for mods.

Me: (switching to The Voice) These are not the cars you want.

Officer: Keep moving.

Me: You can bet on that (heh-heh).

Sorry for my ignorance, but what the use for an Alien scanner ???

Is this for esthetics or what else ?

It serves the same purpose as the aftermarket LED's people have in their cars. It just a visual aid to show your car has an alarm.
Check out www.varad.com for more info.
