stock hid's are always 4100k'ish...6000k will definitely be more purple'ish compared to the stock white/yellow look.

Yeah 4300k. I just ordered some 6000k lights for my fogs. How do you guys think the 4300k with the 6k fogs will look? Anyone got pics of 6k fogs?

This is stock 4300k HID for headlights and then 6k HID fog kit. After about 2 hours of driving so plenty warmed up. They both look the same or similar here, but I can tell once I turn the fogs on they are this real bright white light close to the ground, they over power the headlights a little bit towards the bottom of the headlight beam. Great for lighting up ditches though.

Here is the pic

whats up man, stock are 4300k or 4500k (basically simulated day light) and they look good but not the best...i just put 8000k in my headlights and foglights (headlights are a 9004 bulb, and fog lights are a H3 bulb) on a 98 MAX......Stock Nissan H.I.D. have a nice white and stong output to them. Personally from seeing and from reading the board here 6000k are the best for cosmetic looks and light output. My opinion is 8000k are my fav. They have a nice white blue look without being too blue, and have very good output. Also from what I've seen 10000k and up just look like toy lights, meaning too much of a color for a headlight. Side markers and corning lights, and mirror lights are ok for color but not headlights. However; 8000K 9004 bulbs and 8000k H3 bulbs do match exactly in color, my fogs are a lil more blue than my Headlights...not enought for most people to notice but I do am I'm sure anyone on this board would notice.

U absolutly cannot go wrong with 6000k, 8000k can be a preference among people...I will try to post pics to show how they look but I don't know how to post pics. I'm new to this board (anyone who reads this post and knows how please PM me for instructions)

Anyway anything H.I.D. is a good choice...Good luck

6000k is supposed to be more of a blueish white instead of purple.. i think i'm the only one with 6000k HID's with a purple tint to them they only look purple if you look at the actual headlight from outside the car at night, and especially during the day.. i dont like that.. however, the light on the road does look blue from the drivers seat

ok this might sound a bit dumb... but on the stock hid's when you first turn on the head lights and they are blue and eventually turn white, that blue is what i really love.. it looks sooo beautiful...(until it goes away and turns white) which bulb is the one that stays that blue color?? i dont want blue blue, but i want mine very noticably blue.

well i dont have stock HIDs so my opinion may not matter that much.. lol.. but it's probably anywhere betweek 6000k and 8000k.. 8000k is more of a pure blue.. i dont understand the difference between "blue blue" and "very noticeable blue" but it sounds to me like u want 8000k

lol...ya my bad. what i meant was, i dont want it like super unaturally blue. you know when it looks like someone spray painted the headlights a transparent blue color or something, i hate that cuz it doesnt look right. (doesnt look legal either)haha

lol.. yeah i know what u mean.. i hate that too.. i think thats like 8000k.. you'd probably be good with 6000k.. i have 6000k in my 2001, and now the color of HIDs in other cars just look like high output halogens on the road compared to mine

i believe that 00MaxSE's fog lights are 6000k in post #2

true 6000k hids are suppose to be purple'ish. those authentic philips ultinon 6000k bulbs are white with a purple hue to them. if i want to get more color those are the only ones i trust. i actually like the white/yellow output from the stock stuffs lol i guess i'm more for function than looks.

Have you guys ever has issues with HID fogs and cops giving you tickets? I want to install my hid fogs today but I got 3 tickets today during lunch break. I can't afford for a cop to give me one because of the 6k fogs that are going in.

Nope, no issues here. Just make sure they are aimed low enough as to not blind oncoming traffic.

3 tickets on lunch break??? For what? Speeding, tint, parking?

Speeding, no blinker, 1-2-3 lane change. I was using a blinker for the record.
98 in a 65 on highway. I was in the right lane and it was exit only, there was a 18 wheeler in the lane next to me, and a car behind. So I had to haul *** around him, and I switched to the far left lane. Damn cop who was writing a ticket for someone found a better target which was me.

Well you can start off by purchasing the 10k series bulbs. Here is some pics of my maxima's blue headlights.

These are with 10k bulbs. Here is my stock bulbs color. I personally think this shows the best difference between 4300k and 10000k

Always remember that the higher the k, the lower the output of light.. -_- So you get more blue but less view lol

Look obviously you want and need the 6k bulbs. Just get those already lol...
They will provide you with better visibility anyhow and more light! I love my chrome/blue headlight combo but thats just me. You should see my max coming up at night time with my magnaflow exhaust without resonators and custom stainless steel piping and my two 15 inch CVX's with zx1500.1 kicker amp :stfu:

Heres my interior with blue lights on my Premier MP3 player and my shifter ****

6 and 8k bulbs are purplish while 10k-12k are blueish ok?

To tell you the truth. They never bother me I think its b/c I drive without my fog lamps on now. So it appears I am in a luxo type of car, especially since its all black on outside. I live in Louisville, which is a big city, but they don't really care about speeding, stereos, and limo tint. I rarely ever get pulled over anymore. Maybe 2-3x in this car but like 10x in each other car I used to have lol and I've owned I think 11 cars now since I've been driving.

well you can convert it. It is not a hard thing to do, but I would highly recommend getting projector headlamps b4 converting to HIDs so you will be able to stay legal somewhat lol. Actually, by law, you can only get HIDs if the car comes with it factory. But who follows the legal laws anyhow eh? =P

Anyhow, you are perfectly fine to convert it as long as you have projector headlamps put in prior to HIDs. 6000k is going to be the best bet for output and overall appearance in my opinion. But I personally like my blue headlights too heh I'll show ya a pic where they aren't looking so blue bc they really aren't that blue I don't think lol.

Not necessarily tru, going up to 6000K will net you more lumens than 4300K, however anything past 6000K and your choosing looks over performance.

Stock is actually about 4100K
@Cataylst.X.... 6000k will give you LESS lumens than 4300K. its the COLOR of the 6000k which make your mind THINK that its brighter being as though 6000k is more white (with a slight powderish blue hue) and 4300k has a slight yellowish hue, but in reality the 4300k produces about 3200lm while 6000k produces only about 2800lm (both of which are still bright as hell compared to a stock halogen)
