Difference in tint %
I am not sure whether i want 20% or 5% tint, and I want to see what a silver max looks like with the different % tints on it. If anyone could post a pic or 2 of their silver max with their % of tint that would be truly awesome. I was wondering if anyone who has 5% has trouble seeing at night?

Thanks for the pics and info guys. 20% it will be, I dont want to be backing into any at night poles b/c i couldnt see them. I dont think they offer a % like 18 around here. I think its 5 or 20, kinda big jump. I have had legal tint(in KY its 35 up front and 25 in back i believe) on my old 94 eclipse and definitley want it darker.
Thanks for the link, im really tired and didnt think about searching for the tint thread.

I use 15% tint on my car all the way around. The only time I have issues is if I am reversing in an area that has no light. Other then that I have no problems at all.

nah it depends what kind of tint you get...on my old car i had 50% tint and it was hot as hell still and the leather seats burn lol
check out http://www.v-kool-usa.com/automotive.html that's the tint i'm using and it blocks out as much or more heat than those dark tint. i would always recomend this type of tint if you want to stay legal and still block a lot of heat. most people only use these on front windows because they're expensive.

IMO 20% is perfect. As long as you get good quality. Its a little hard to see at night when there are no street lights around, but other than that its good. Looks good in the daylight and blocks lots of heat. I'm quite satisfied with 20%

I think you should go with something lighter since you have a silver car. Something that blends well with the silver paint. Don't get the crome looking tint, though. That looks tacky.
Don't forget to check the laws in your state. I had a beautiful tint job done in Miami, FL with 20% and then a year later I moved to NC. In NC, 35% is the darkest you can go on the front windows so I had to remove the tint in order to pass the inspection.

Depends on what you want tints for in my opinion..If you dont want ppl to see you than 5,10,12%..Other than that 20% and up..I personally put in 15% gray on mines because is my max is silver mist color..sorry no pics yet!!

I know a couple of different guys around here that have tinted their front windshield. One in a gold max with 5% on side and 50% on windshield, and an white integra with 35% on windshield. You cannot see anything at all at night, whether you are outside looking in or inside looking out.
