CHSML HOLE COVER??????

I want to know if the third brake light has a cover available from Nissan or other fabrications people have done...I know the CHSML(center high stop mounted light) or third brake light has a part number for the 3rd and 4th generations (brake cover plate) but I couldn't find any part number for the 5th generations???? It looks tacky with my new spoiler on my 01 and also the third brake light in the window....What has any else done about this...Thanks...

There is a cover, I don't know the part number, but give Dave Burnett a call. He is our resident go-to parts guy at Southpoint Nissan. And before you ask, please search for his tel #, it is all over the forum.

Hey n3985

Thanks for the response...I ordered a MAF from Dave B. last week and installed it this past weekend with a fellow orger...(00maxse-Jason) I will gave Dave B. a call this week and see if he can help me...He is the best parts guy around...The light is easily removed but the hole is ugly..

How's the MAF working out for ya Paul?
I'm still sick. It got worse actually. Probably not going to work tomorrow either, but we'll see.

There is a cover available, and the light can be removed. It is an accessory item. Call your local Nissan Dealer, and give them your interior trim code. Trust me, I've been slingin' Nissan parts since '97.

or you can just remove the third brake light and recarpet your dash a better material.. ie something black to make your tint looks as if its darker..

thats what i did.. i dont have a third brake light but i recarpeted my rear dash black felt to make my car look like it has tint and cover up the factory bose hole and tie down bolt, that i took out, holes.. and it works pretty good

^ you mean as in recarpeting your actual one piece floor carpet in your car also? that my friend i dont think felt will work..

but i've used it for my rear dash and it works fine.. i have a feeling it will fade though one day lol i got the material from Walmart.. stupid prices went up 2 $3 and change.. i also use it to carpet custom sub boxes i make for friends.

hope the pics help out.. maybe influence some

Just ordered my third brake light cover for the hole from DAVE B. for $21...Not a bad price for a nissan accessory, but not that great for a piece of plastic to match the interior...
