I was rolling on the highway saturday night and i noticed a knocking on the side of my car. i couldnt stop on the highway to look because there was no sides, so when i happen to look in my driver side mirror, i seen something come off and shatter on the road. when i stopped to look at the gas station, my clear corner, including the light was GONE! anyone kno where to get a wire harness? or whatever i'd need to fix this. courtesy also doesnt have the clear corners on there anymore and all i see now is the smoked clear corners??

I warned all of you about this a year ago.

 

I had the same thing happen over the weekend. I actually lost both rears and need the wiring harness as well. I was planning on trying to pull it off a wrecked Max that is sitting at my friends shop. Would that do the trick?

 

yea i couldnt find any local here. so Dave B will hook me up huh. how much to these harness run. this was so weird how all a sudden it falls off after 2 years, and i've never even touched the fronts since. actually i've had how do i say this, some road activity with a mustang. but i've had many activities for 2 yrs and i guess its just now happening

 

It has nothing to do with racing...

It's because this happens to the clips that hold them in:

 

damn that sucks.. just go to a mall parking lot.. grab a screwdriver.. pop someones out within 10 sec.s and snip the harness with it.. and VTEC outta there..

wait.. we have no VTEC LOL :P jp.. that sucks.. how about replacing those metal clips of the aftermarket corners with factory clips? factory is always better ;D

I installed my HID fogs on saturday, I didn't secure one of them good so on sunday when I was driving I heard a scraping sound. It was my balast.

 

i have the ebay corners and just recently got them,,, would that mean this could happen to me... so i should go back to stock?

 

The ebay ones don't fit as well.

 

My ebay ones have been on the car for 3+ years with 0 issues And they fit fine.

 

I had to cut/dremel down the edge of one of them so it'd fit in properly. The ebay ones do fit alright after that.

 

Anything to apply to them to protect against rust?

Maybe some clear coating?


Mines are brand new, and i want to avoid this rusting to happen...

yeaaa thats exactly what it did!!!, but i could buff it out with the microfiber towel and wax that i had. all thats left is a small (non noticable) chip

dayum now that i look at urs, yours got messed up worse! yea man i heard the hard knocking. i thought something was breaking off of my car, or the plastic scraping under the front bumper

OP I have a smoked side marker that was slightly damaged in my accident. Lense itself is fine, but plastic tab broke off. The metal tab is in 100% perfect condition. I don't know why some people have rusted ones. Maybe since I live in the south.

It still has the socket that you might need. If you decide to use the marker then you'd need to fix onto it a small tab to keep it in place, and tint your clear lol

I only have the fronts i just took off the lens from the factory marker and popped the clear lens back on like i was just changing a bulb.

 

there is no reason this thread should be bumped to the top .
