Need SOme People Opinions

I have a 2000 Maxima Se ...AT...i was thinking would it make any sense hooking it up if i have 97,000 miles on it ...I know i what 2 Put some Nice black sporty 19's and some 15% tints but would it make sense to buy headers/ y-pipe/cat and exhaust...at that even a CAI or short intake...Let me know what you guys think.

I am in the same spot... same year and 95K miles. I feel tempted to do mechanical work, but I must resist! I do plan on keeping the car for at least two more years, it suits me really well (no maintenance costs) but expensive/involved mods are out of question.

I've done the tint, some interior comestic, will be doing spring + struts soon, and then wheels and i should be done.

Resalewise, probibly not. But if you plan on keeping the car awhile, I would. 97K on a Max is nothing. I have 150k and it still runs strong.

If you're questioning it, then don't do it.

In regards to mileage, you are absolultely correct: 100K miles on a well-treated maxima is nothing. Obviously, if you car is beaten, that doesnt count.

So yes, it boils down to how long u want to keep her.

Are you planning on going with another Max? Regardless your car still has a lot of life left. Not to mention if you do decide to get a different car then you could always come back the org and part her out before sale.

I say mod it...

Well if it has been this long W/O tint... dont bother now.
Try the best of both worlds...
Intake ($100)
Cat-Back Exhaust (ebay $250-$350 depending on brand)
18" wheels (19"'s too heavy and more expensive)

I agree, if you are planning to keep her for awhile, then go ahead and mod her, but if you want to get rid of her in a year or so, leave her be, she's buitiful that way she is anyways.

Your mod list is not difficult anyways, some exhust and intake should be no problem if you want to put it on the car and remove them before selling the car, just keep your stock setup somewhere safe to you can put it back on later.

I'd 4th, 5th, & 6th that as well. If you plan on keeping the car for some time go ahead mod it how you would like. I got my 2k last year & now have 128K & I'm adding AE parts, dropped it, adding parts that would not lower the value of the car to much. Like Orgullo said, If you ever want to sale the car you can always un-mod it here.

I'd buy used mods if possible. That way if you get rid of it, you won't lose as much selling the parts back.
