What is this bloody thing? It seems leaking my tranny oil..

That is the Overdrive servo piston retainer. There is a plain flat gasket seal there. If tranny fluid is seeping from that area you won't hurt anything by checking the bolt torque. The bolt torque is supposed to be 14 - 17 ft/lbs. After looking at the FSM the actual fluid seal for the retainer are two "O" rings by the look of it. If you find that the leak is actually from that retainer, then other than checking the bolt torque, I'm really leary about you attempting to remove the retainer. I think it would be safer if you headed off to a tranny shop.

I think I will clean it first and see if any oil comes out
