Anyone tried to swap gauge clusters ?

I have 2000 GLE and always wanted white gauges like in the SE model so I got a whole cluster from another SE with the same mileage (waited till mine reached within <100 miles).

I put a new one in but it doesn't count miles. Odometer and speedometer needle is stuck and ABS light always on. rpm ,temp and gas needles work fine. Drove it like this for a mile or two then put my old one back. Old one works fine.

Did I get a broken one ?

I pretty sure a lot of ppl swapped their black ones to white, did anyone get this problem ?

Sounds like it. Since you stayed within the 00/01 cluster versus the 02/03 cluster, you should have not seen any problems with it whatsoever.

yes its from another 00/01. Actually speed needle doesn't work ether.

Me friend is coming with his 2k Max and we'll try to put his cluster in to mine to see if it actually gonna work or give the same problem.

even tho they r from the same year, they may not be compatible depending on the TCS function. if you have TCS, u must get a cluster that also supports TCS otherwise it wont fully work. Same vice versa if you dont have TCS. the wiring is slightly different for with and without TCS

The cluster is apart of the TCS? That's bizarre!

Actually, you could have just swapped the faces while keeping your original cluster. I know that most 2000 models the faces were all individual pieces. It wasn't until late 2000 and early 2001 Nissan made the cluster faces as all one piece. ZAJOBA, I would try this route. Do both clusters have individual faces where you can unscrew them out? I know for mine, my 2K SE does.
