The loop that attaches the remote to my key ring has broken. Actually, there are two loops. One broke a couple years ago and the second let loose this week.

Was wondering if anyone has a dead, non-functioning, but physically intact remote who might be interested in unloading it for a few bucks and shipping. Have seen complete remotes for sale on e-bay with bids at $15 including shipping. But really don't want to buy a complete remote and this would be a way for someone to recycle a dead one.

Actually, I haven't yet opened up the old remote but I'm guessing I can remove the guts from it and put it in a new case.

Remote model is ASTU15 from an '03 Maxima.

Those break all the time. I have been through 3 remotes in 2 yrs.
I always buy OE replacements from a ebay store "Car and Truck Remotes"
Awesome prices, comes with pogramming instructions. Last month i had to got 2(1 for me, 1 for my wife) for $35 incl shipping!!!

 

is there a different remove version for different years or different cars? this thread reminds me that i need a new battery for mine. i know i have two, but i think one of mine also has a broken loop.

 

Hmm... since on the topics for remotes.... is there an aftermarket kind that has the Key and the remote in one peice?.... like bmw, newer honda stuff....

 

for a max? i haven't seen one.
