Spark Plug change?

my car is presently at 80k miles on the original plugs. I have noticed a little play on the rpm gauge at idle. Just got done with the oil and tranny fluid change, will look to change the spark plugs and drop in a k&n air filter. What do you guys normally recommend for plugs? also how hard is it to do this on the 3.5? thanks!

There is a sticky on top of the page labeled, "How To's".

And another sticky labeled "WHAT TO DO WHEN A LINK TO A THREAD IS BROKEN (STICKIES, SEARCH RESULTS, ETC)"

Between the 2, you will find your answers.

Follow these instructions and you'll be done in a few hours.

could the tiny bounce in idle be because of the spark plugs? Ive noticed it after getting my tranny fluid changed, but that could simply be because i was trying to notice for it afterwards.

Since you have to pull the intake on the 3.5, you ought to look into adding a phenolic spacer while you are at it.

those phenolic spacers are expensive though ScottyW... the main purpose for them is just to cool the intake air, correct??

sounds like a PITA, should be fun though as long as everything goes back smoothly.

wonder why they made it so complicated to get the rear ones done.

$225 for a claimed 10 hp and 12 lb-ft is a bargain. A cat-back, for example, would be twice that and maybe-if you are lucky, half the gains.

If you are going to go to all the trouble to remove the intake to install new plugs, if the cost of the spacers is in the budget, it seems to be a good idea to get them.

It isn't like we have cheap cars....

Remember, this is the internet. We are all filthy rich, date supermodels and our other car is a Ferrari, Porsche or Lamborghini.

ive heard bad things about the K&N dropin filter. a number of org members told me not to use it. read this = says the OEM is the best filter (or one of the best)
