Good price for my car?

Guys, I was wondering what would be a good price for my 2003 Nissan Maxima SE.

It has about 80,XXX miles on it.

Merlot colored
Great condition
Manual 6spd
Leather Interior, Moon Roof.... Well... pretty much fully loaded, I looked on cars.com and it seems to me that my car is pretty damn rare to find, I mean a manual fully loaded maxima that is. Let me know what you guys think... thanks!

kbb was lower for me, but is probably more accurate because it takes into account more features of your car than nada does

You do have to consider that having a 6-spd, although rare, won't demand as high of a price in the used car market as a comparable auto. (Unless of course you sell to someone who can appreciate the fact --- like a fellow .Org member or enthusiast).

The price you paid for the options to get it fully loaded also doesn't translate to a 1:1 ratio in terms of what you get back in the used market.

I wouldn't pay more than 7.5k for it. Sorry, but the longer you wait to sell the lower it goes.

are you nuts? you would be hard pressed to get a comparably optioned 00-01 for 7,500. i'd say your car is worth at least $11,000.

$27,000 car, 4 years later is worth 7.5 to you? It's not a GM

This is why I'll only buy Infiniti from now on, Maxima resale sucks.

I got a 02 se, with 105,000 miles, super clean. Mines about worth $7,900 because of high mileage. your range is about $9,000-$11,000....... Depending on condition. 6spd are rare, there is about a 20% production on the 5th gen...

First it's manual. Second this is America. Third it's a buyers market. Fourth the color sucks. Fifth suspension. Sixth it's about to have a birthday. Seventh is what they pay at an auction. Eighth most people are too old or too young to notice the car. Ninth it's a private seller. Tenth try to trade it in and see what they say.

Oh, and I am serious.

Who cares if it's rare... It's a 03' Maxima, not a 76' Trans Am, rarity will not matter for re-sale on your car.

Most people in the market for a Maxima WANT an Auto, what's rare is someone that wants a 6-speed on a 4-door family car.

Like has been said before. Go by the kbb and nada values for your car. It's not worth more because it's..... "rare"

i would try to sale it for as much as you can get for it. You play just like a car sells man. if you trade it in they will probably give you 9k or 10k for it but they will turn around a sell it for about $13,000-$15,000. so get what you want for it. i sold my first maxima for $5,000. it was a '94 Gxe with 195,000 miles on it. Had 2 trans replacements and everthing. You get someone who really likes your car they will spend what ever you ask for it. so you find the right person and you got yourself a deal.

Your car is not rare. The only way you going to get what you are asking is if someone really wants your car, and depending how fast you want to get rid of it also. 10,500 is reasonable, I would put 11,000 OBO and take to 10,500. Play it like a car sales man.

I dont think that is a reasonable price. Most 5th gens near me with 100k are selling for about 8.5-10k.

5% is still thousands each year. it isnt rare and DOES NOT INCREASE THE PRICE.

yes it is a "rare" maxima...but it still a maxima. a 6MT maxima is not a "rare car"

a rare car - yenko camaro

Man, I gotta start buyin' my cars in the states.
I bought my '03 GLE with 70K km's (43k miles) and I paid 18 grand!

Alberta's used car market sucks to say the least.

I hope this might help. I just put a deposit down on a 03 Merlot MINT condition, "loaded" except leather, it's auto, and has 77K miles. The dealer bought it from the previous owner for 13G, and sold it to me for 14G. Granted, I may not have gotten the best deal, but I got a 4 year extended warranty and beat them down from 16G to 14G. And it's a pretty big dealership so I know they were a little overpriced, but the extended warranty covers absolutely everything except oil changes and tune ups......hope this helps a little. Oh yes and I'm in Boston so might be more or less depending on your location.

Unless they are the worst dealership in the world, they did not buy that car for $13,000...

They lied to you, they tell you that so you think there is no room to drop the price anymore. In reality, they owned that car for less then $10,000.

What is a reasonable price to get to point A to point B and back again? Some people don't own cars and probably wouldn't pay anything to own one. The longer you wait the more likely you would consider 7.5k for the car.

Right now I am looking to by an 03 same as yours except automatic and silver. They want 8900 +++. They just swapped it for a Ford four door truck for the same price. I still figure they have about 2k profit to come down. There will be a birthday in January and the price should drop. Cars are not meant to stay on dealers lots for over three months. If it's still there after three months they take it to an auction.

Money talks and bull**** walks. I would rather have the money than to buy a car. But my 95 maxima has 295k miles, 01 pathfinder has 120k miles, 87 pathy has 234k miles and that money isn't burning a hole in my pocket.

These cars are hard to sell with manual transmissions unless you find someone who is looking for that particular vehicle. That's how I sold my 3.5SE 5-Speed Manual Altima with 43k miles for $17,500.

Well they probably are the worst dealership in the world then, because they showed me the paperwork from the previous owner and it did say they purchased the car for 12,982......who knows really....everything related to cars is overpriced!! At least give me credit that I got them down to 14G plus extended warranty lol!! It was my first car I bought myself, my dad helped me with down payment for my 96 max that was totaled last week....I will put up pics of it when I figure out how to do it

$14k with a warranty is not *that* bad, especially for your first car on your own.

I will admit, when my wife and I got our first car on our own... We got killed.

They can show you that paper all they want, it's still a lie, as my friend who is a dealer once told me... "It’s all about how it looks on paper, reality is, I made a ton of money".

you had problems selling it because of the way you mistreated it.

true story. people on here posted saying that was the reason they didnt want to buy it.

hmmm ... since it asks for what maybe a good price... how about $6499 cash

Good Luck on the sale... Manual trans family cars are generally harder to sell. It may take sometime have patience.
