Installation instructions (how-to) for clear sidemarkers

Hey folks ! I know some of you wondered how easy is this install and how do you do it exactly

Actually, it's really easy and fast operation.

What you need :

Clear sidemarkers (dah)
Flat screwdriver
Thick terry cloth

First, you pry the oem side marker with the towel around the screwdriver, going from the rear to the front :

Then, the lense comes out pretty easily. There's only 1 set of wires going to the side marker, and it's connected into the bulb

My connectors were very dirty, and it was really hard to remove the connector to the bulb, so I removed the bulb from lense for an easier job

as you can see, a lot of dirt was stuck around the connector. I cleaned it so it would be easier to plug in the new orange bulb that came with my sidemarkers

Then, plug it into your new sidemarkers and press until it locks in place

after, just place the sidemarker back into the hole, front first and rear last

Repeat for the other sidemarker, and that's it !

As you can see, it's a very easy install. Everyone can do it. I hope this will help someone in the future

you really though nobody on here knew how to do this

your owners manual tells you how to remove them to change the bulb. its not rocket science.

I don't think it is that simple to remove these. Consider the following:

The back of the light has two supports. One with a fixed plastic hook and the other with a plastic spring like hook. The spring side applies pressure to hold the fixed hook in place. The spring side resides closest to the bumper, on both ends.

The manual says to push/pull on the light as mentioned above (not just pull) with a screw driver. You have to push forward otherwise the hook end will either break off or you'll crack the lense. This happened to me on the rear lense.

Well actually when you insert your screwdriver with a towel around, it pushes enough the lense so that you only need to pry it off. Well, that was for me.

And I've never said it was hard and/or a new mod. I was just trying to help by giving pics of the instructions for noobs like me in modifications.

Nice and easy mod. One thing that I did was take silicone and seal the seams on the sidemarkers. That way no condensation or water will leak in. Don't know if it works but its holding up steady for me

and before the typical, "i dont have a manual" excuse...

Get A Freakin’ Manual Already!

Dear <insertusernamehere>,

Thank you for visiting Maxima.org! Your stay here will be longer, more productive and infinitely more enjoyable for all involved if you direct your attention to your owner’s manual.

Unlike “War and Peace,” this piece of great literature can help answer some of the great questions of our generation, like “What bulbs do I use?” or “How does my car know its ICY outside?” or “What’s the best way to check my vehicle’s oil?”

Can’t find yours? You’re in luck! Click below to find your own, personal, new copy of this “must read”! Its not in Oprah’s Book Club, but it’s a page turner! I promise!

Oh, and in case I forgot to mention it, search first, post second!

Thank you! Come again!!

Ok looks like I can't delete my own thread.. sorry for that, you will have to either ignore it or lock it.

I'm sorry guys if I made you angry about that, I thought that bringing some pictures would maybe help somebody.

And those are Altima hubcaps, I use them with my winter rims. Good quality and I like the looks.

How is it being debated? I mentioned that following the procedure in the book caused me to chip a lens. Houscor mentions that on his site:

There are two methods for installing corners: The quick way involving a flathead screwdriver (outlined in the owners manual) and the safe way. I chipped the edge of my OEM lens when removing it like the owners manual suggested. It's also easy to scar your paint if you're not careful, so I recommend taking a couple extra minutes and playing it safe. Below are instructions on the safe method for the front sidemarkers.
Though his site mentions a way to safely remove the front lens, it does not mention the rear (which is what I was referring too).

Sorry but, if you chip your sidemarker doing it the proper way... You are just careless.

I have removed them MANY times; to install clears, to remove clears, and to put in countless replacement bulbs. I have never chipped a sidemarker or damaged my paint.

Although we're all really impressed...

I don't think housecor is careless, stuff happens.

If you damage anything... You are putting on too much pressure or not even bothering to use a cloth.

Once again, it's very simply laid out in the owners manual, if you can follow directions at all, you will have no problem.

Not true. You can follow the manual and still easily crack a side marker.

I can't speak for housecor, but in my case I applied slowly increasing pressure with a flathead and cloth.

I don't think you're considering other factors. Age of lights and exposure to UV, seasonal temperatures, Etc.

Wow, so breaking a plastic light predisposes you to non-mechanical ability.
