Well, that depaends on your MODS, your MPG and when you tripped the sensor. I've driven 45 miles with the needle WAY under E and still did not run out of gas. So...

Do it the Kramer way. When the idiot light turns on, keep on driving until your car don't go no more. Remember how far you went. And next time, don't go as far.

I refuel imm. after my light goes on, and it never took more than 14.5 gallons to fill 'er up. Means somewhere around 3.5 galls is still left in the tank, with no mods.

probably like 2.5-3 gallons left which is about 50-70mpg dependes what your car does. try not to get to the bottom of the tank cuz there is a lot of "dirt" and its not good for the engine to let it combust
My car seems to lose some power after the gas light turns on, like I'm running on fumes or something. I usually don't wait to long to fill up after that, cause it sucks driving and feeling underpowered. Anyone else get the same effect?

My light went on today, and I got gas about three miles later, putting in 15.88 gallons (after 380 miles since the last fill-up = 23.92 mpg...mostly at highway speeds).

That's what a fuel filter is for Originally posted by 2001SE

actually you're right about not letting the tank go almost dry...but it's not becuase of "dirt" it's becuase the fuel actually acts to cool off the fuel pump...and when you run the tank low...the fuel doesn't cool off the fuel pump as well.

I dont know about you guys, but my experience so far on a 2K1 max is as SOON as the light turns on, you have about 7 miles left in the tank. The other day, i practically ran out of gas, feeling the gas losing it on the freeway, it scared the **** out of me. My civic would go below low and still give a clean 40-50 miles of distance.
I filled up this morning at 15.8 gallons, and light had barely turned on, I dont know what the tank holds, but it seems pretty close to empty to me. From now on, quarter tank left and I refuel.
