High beam malfunction

Canadian car with stock DRL. The high beam passenger side is lighted with the low voltage DRL as it is supposed to, but when turning on headlamps and hi beams on, it does not lit. Is this a DRL module malfunction? What part do I need to fix or replace ?

Already checked the fuses, all good. I suspect a bad relay built in the DRL module.

Very common issue on 00-03 Max. Same with pathfinders too.
Ususally only one side high beam goes.
You need a new Daytime Running Light Module. It's a white box behind pass headlight by washer fluid bottle. 2 10 mil bolts. If i am not mistaken unit is $136. I have a spare one in my toolbox haha

I am not familiar with US vehicles but 99% i am sure you will not have the harnesses where to plug the module in. WE actually install DRL modules on vehicles registered from states and we always run new wires so it's not just a plug and play.

There is a company called Trucklite that sells add on DRL's.-

With the way Nissan wires their lamps you would have to use one on each lamp or use one in the fog lamp system.

What will happen to the DRL module is that a solder connection on the circuit board will burn through/break the connection. You can open the module, look for the burned spot and resolder. It will be good for a few more years, or untill another spot goes. Cheap fix.

Same problem on my 2003 GLE. Guess I'll rip it out when it warms up a bit. Good to know it's a common problem, and not my precious Max starting to get old.

Cheers.

Dave B. won't be selling them as they were not used in the states.
