Reinstalled wilwoods + 2pc rotors (oh, and have a new baby too)

After using crap ceramic pads for the last few months, they have built up the usual uneven deposits on my OEM rotors resulting in a shimmy again....this was with the z32 calipers btw.

So, I decided, in between visits to my new baby in the hospital, to take the 2pc rotors to get turned (lathed) and installed them. Oh, and I re-installed the Wilwood superlites with Hawk HPS.

this time: no noise. silent. smooth. braking is awesome, but has very good feel to it after bedding.

(btw, those are my winter wheels and snow tires)

6pm today at home:

8pm today at the hospital

Congrats dood.

I hope the baby doesn't mean it will keep you from posting on the org. I always find your how-to's very useful.

Alexandra Ryan H***** (last name omitted since this is a public forum ) We had some nice Irish names picked out if it was a boy....but for a girl somehow we ended up with a Greek name (neither of us is Greek at all, lol). Ryan was my middle name pick, since it is a good Irish girl's name

Born almost 5 weeks early on December 31st (tax baby!) at 5lbs 12oz....wasn't due until Feb 5th :scared:

While my wife is at the hospital visiting tomorrow (I'm staying home to walk the dog) I have to also install a new steering stabilizer on the Jeep. Gotta get my car stuff done while I still have a chance, lol.

nah, I gotta play by the rules like everyone else

that said, with my wife still recovering from the birth (and 2 transfusions afterwards) and unable to drive, I've been putting some miles on her 2004 Mazda3s (which onlyhas 15k miles on it!!), which is actually really fun to drive. Handles stock better than my modded maxima, but itn's nearly as fast off the line.

And of course I also have the Cherokee.

I am taking this thread so o/t it's not funny!

Congrats on the baby girl and best wishes to your wifes recovery!

Still considering getting one in the spring....might just keep the max though.

yeah, it's just the unswept area between the aluminum hat and the edge of the pad. I thought the red would look cool without being too ricey. It's pretty much the only color on my entire car, lol...

eh....I like my max better. the mazda is nice for city driving, but not enjoyable on the highway.....not enough power, seats are really hard, and the center console is too freaking wide and my knee bashes into itconstantly (and I'm only 6'0).

And I will NEVER go back to a 4-banger, even a turbo...

no replacement for diplacement...

Brakes look good, Josh. Which Blizzaks are those...the 22's or 25's? I just got some WS-60's and love 'em! I'll never be without dedicated snow tires again.

And congrats on the new addition! I hope your wife gets back home soon.

Congrats on the new arrival!

My first is due in a week. I am excited as hell and scared as hell in the same breath.

And yes, get the car stuff done, because in just the prep stuff for getting ready for my arrival, I have done very little to the cars.

Conrats on the baby girl. Are those the same rotors you used on the 300zx calipers. The coleman racing ones. I am sending them one of my rotors from the stillen 2 piston kit to get 2pc ones made. Only going to cost $500 compared to stillen asking $1000.

yeah, those are the 2pc rotors that Matt Blehm made. They are coleman rotors and custom made hats.

I'm pretty sure Matt still has a few sets sitting around, why not just buy a set from him? Or is it a different size?

Different size 13 inch rotor and not the same as a cobra rotor as used by jeff's kit
