Steering wheel interface

I was thinking about installing the PAC SWI-PS. ( Steering Wheel interface). Now does this unit go under the steering or under the dash? Or does it stay out in plan site?

I beleive this goes behind the dash but first you program it with your stereos remote then put it behind after its programed and your good.
