Climate Control

Today the left side of the climate control went out. I guess its one of the bulbs that illuminates Temp button, rear defrost, windshield heat, Auto, Economy and off buttons. Am I correct? How do I replace it or do I need to buy a new unit? Thanks for your help.

Digital / Manual???

Manual: No need to buy a new unit. LED stem can be replaced. Take the unit out. There is two screws on the back side, once you take those out then you'll have to unclip it. This should reveal the back side, you can remove the face off too. You'll have to remove the adjuster button by just pulling it off. It's really difficult to describe. Once you take the unit out man just take a look and it'll pretty much explain itself. As far as bulbs, just type in LED in google and a "bookoo" of **** will come up.

Not sure, assume that it should be the same but I've got the manual. Again, just take it off and you should be able to see what has to be removed in order to see the bulbs. I mean, that's what I did...

If neither of the defroster button's lights operates when you press them and the AUTO, ECON and OFF buttons don't light up when the headlights are on, you've got more than one bulb out and I'm just guessing that it may be more than just a bulb replacement problem. Lets hope it's a bulb problem.

If it is a bulb problem, the AUTO, ECON and OFF are lit by one bulb (Nissan Part number 27545-1W600). You can buy this at Courtesyparts.com for $3.88 plus shipping. The defroster switches are are lit by two seperate amber LEDs. Replacing these will require determining the correct LED and soldering.

no, all the buttons are light up by bulbs, only the indicators are using LEDs.

You are incorrect. The defroster lights are LEDs. I just took the auto climate control unit completely apart on January 9th and replaced the bulb that lights the AUTO, ECON, OFF buttons. The LEDs are soldered directly to the board underneath the defroster switches.

why don't you look at this?

Every buttons has its own reflecting lens to reflect light from the bulbs.
the LEDs are for indication, not for lighting. what if you turn the defroster off? then the button has no light at all?
