Steering wheel pulling to the right..

I have a 01 SE and the steering wheel keeps pulling to the right.. I have seen some other people complaining about the same problem and would like to know if any other max owners have this problem.

1. You probably need an alignment
2. All roads (in North America anyway) slope to the right
3. If the alignment doesn't fix it, you have bigger suspension problems

when you drive you car straight, does the steering wheel sit crooked? if so then you need an alignment for sure

They don't exactly slope to the right, but they slope downwards from the center. It only effectively slopes right if you're on a multi-lane road (and driving on the correct side, of course).

Could be caused by the tires (radial pull)try cross rotating the front tires.

if u wanna make sure its not the road, test it in a parking lot. same thing happen to mine, right after i did the alignment and its sometimes the road.

You are correct, I shouldn't have stated all.
One way roads will slope to either side depending on what lane your in.

I had it checked for alignment... it was fine(according to the mechanic). I guess I should try driving it in a parking lot and see.. and I hope it's not a suspension problem.

I could not do that as my tires seem to be directional or something and cannot be swapped...

It's probably the roads I drive on... I will just have to check...

Thanx all...

im thinking its a radial pull. you might also have a seperated belt in the tire which might cause that?

a few questions:

-what kind of tires are they? (ie. low profile, stock, etc)

- how are the inner and outer edges of the tire? any cupping?

- what brand of tires ?

- how is the thread?

Just keep in mind that not all tires are suitable for every application. i used to sell tires at a goodyear location and noticed that no every tire would work on every car although it seemed to bethe once that seemed appropraite for that car.

I think your experiencing something call tramlining. Here's a link to an article about it:

My car has the same issue as yours. Alignment, new tires didn't fix it. As suggest by others its probably a suspension issue. I've learnt to deal with it. Certainly keeping the tire pressure around 39 PSI seems to lessen the effect but at some point I'll probably have to have someone look at the suspension.

may be you were driving on an uneven road, so the car started to pull to the lower side of the road little by little.

ypu should not only limit to that...but also check the bushing on your control arms you tire rods...axles...you'll be surprised what can make you car pull like that..

In my civic i had the car aligned and it was still pulling it turned out to be a ball joint and a bushing in the control arm fixed them and no more pulling.....good luck!!!
