Were 17"s an option or standard on a 2000 SE?

I've seen maybe one or two pictures of 2000 Maximas that claim to be a SE model with 16" wheels. Does anyone have an original window sticker that lists the 17" wheels as an option on the 2000 SE model?

I ask because I want to run in the stock auto-x class for the upcoming season, so I need to run a stock wheel/tire size combo. If the 16" wheels came stock on the SE, I can find a much lighter wheel for less money.

Also, are the 16" wheels 16x7" or 16x6.5"?

The SEs came standard with 17s but you CAN run 16s withou issue. I run 16" wheel and tire combo in the winter without any problems.

The GXEs came standard with 15" tires I believe!

I dont think if hes asking about fitting a 16". And yes, even 15"s fit in the 2K. I have a 15" winter set right now.

Regarding the OP question, I also have seen 16"s in some 5th Gen, and I think I've even seen it on SEs... I thought that was pretty weird too...

Maybe it wasnt SEs though... who knows...

I've seen some 2000 SE's with these wheels. Is this what you're talking about?

2000 SE's did not come standard with 17's...

The 17's were part of the "Comfort and Convenience" package.

If it is a true SE, it should have a spoiler, smoke tail lights, chrome exhaust tip and fog lights... That's also just the exterior.

If you are in doubt, get the VIN and call a Nissan dealer.

Also, IIRC an SE does not have that Silver ring around the grill... It's changed to match the rest of the grill.

yeah.. those are the 16 inch wheels, and i see lots of 5th gen SE's with those.. the way you can tell 16's vs. 17's is the rims.. 16's have the 5 spoke rims, and the 17's have the 6 spoke

I never said that that pic was an SE, that was just the first pic of those wheels I could find. I know that is not an SE due to the silver ring around the grill and also the door handles. Oh well.

If anyone has an original window sticker, I'd love to see the 17"s listed as part of that "Comfort and Convenience" package.

I know I have a "true" SE and I know the 16"s will fit, I'm just trying to stay within auto-x rules by using a wheel/tire size that came from the factory.

those are the 16 inch wheels.. you saw the 16 or 17 option on tirerack because you can have a 2000 SE stock with either 16s or 17s

I read that directly off of my original window sticker.

Some 2001 SE's also came with 16s, my friend has one. Has everything my car has except MT, 17s, sunroof, and auto-changing rear view mirror I believe.

2000 SE Maximas initially in the early production cycle were only available with 16" wheels. Shortly after production started 17" wheels became a free standing option or part of an option package.

The base model '00/'01 SEs had 16s as standard equipment. I bought my '00 "base SE" new & still have the window sticker that shows the 16s. I'll be happy to provide the OP a copy of it if needed!

I got an early SE and I have the 16s. They were definitely standard when the 5th gen first came out. And by late 00 into 01...the 17s came into the picture.

Thank you for all of the responses, especially the people that chimed in with their window stickers.

Are those 16x7" or 16x6.5"?

Option

17" wheels are not standard even for 2001 SE. They seem to come with a package. I have a 2001 SE with 17"ers and I believe they came with the comf and conv package. So, I seriously doubt if they were standard with 2000 SE.
