front main seal

hey guys i curoius if any of you have run into problems with your front main seals when running an udp? i have gone through two of them and the third one is leaking now. i'm to the point of just getting a stock one again since i don't know where mine is, but if you have any info on how to get it to stop leaking that would be great thanks.

you mean crank seal.
No reason to leak from a pulley swap.
It's the actual crank that rides in it and there is a whole lot more pressure exerted by the piston than by a crank pulley even if it was bent or what not.
What seals do you use and did you clean the inner and outter race from any debries before installing seal? Also did you score it when you tried to remove the old seal? That could cause it to leakHow do you install the seal by tapping on one side at the time and perhaps deforming the seal or using a round seal installer and tapping it in uniformly?

The front crank seal does run on the accessory drive pulley. This is an old issue that crops up with some aftermarket pulleys due to, either the seal getting damaged on pulley installation whether the seal was replaced or not, or seal contact surface wear due to the Al alloy (non-bushed) pulley material, or the seal mating diameter of the pulley being undersize compared to the removed stock pulley especially if the seal was not replaced.

the seal was replaced and when i do that i tap it in with a socket that is as big as the seal so it's put in equally. i think i'm just going to try to get a stock pulley and put it back on.

Sleeve/N/Seal works nice, oil the seal before you install it
