fuel pump question...

ive already tried searching but cant find a definitive answer on which walbro 255 fits my car, ive already tried a gss342 and a gss341 but it still seems to hit the bottom of the sender receiver unit and i have put the factory strainer in place and everything back together correctly, i know im supposed to dremel the little lips off of them and still nothing the car will idle fine but bog under load. my sender unit has two lines at the top of it held in place with the two green clips.

Both the GSS341 & the 342 will fit. I just installed a 342 (HP 255lph) in an '02 maxima the other day.

I think I bought that same one. It does not fit. Not only is it just a tad too long, it needs to be turned 180* to correctly fit. But I was undeterred lol. I ****** rigged it in with hose clamps and used the old filter bag (mine was clean).
It's not something someone would want to do, though.

Yeah, i'm sure it's the same one. It said it was for 89-03, too.

I guess it could work, since I can't remember the model # for mine, but I wouldn't take the risk unless it's known that the model fits.

I just said, "Oh hell no". Then I went to town planning my evil install muhahahahahah.

A little ingenuity and you can clamp that thing in there so hard it will never come apart.

well i dont know if its a 2k thing or what but my fuel pump assembly has two lines coming out of the top of it instead of one, plus the last time i tried installing the 342 and i trimmed it down it went in fine and everything only under idle but when i tried accelerating, the car just bogged like it wasnt getting enough fuel.

Not to shoot down anyones credibility, but pmohr really knows his stuff, and I have yet to see any evidence of this from the other member.

Then there's lots of model variations floating around, and some don't work.
I was just giving my experience with those walbros off ebay.

The 341 and the 342 are the same regardless of where you get them from, assuming they're genuine Walbro pumps.

well... it is ebay lol. Mine works fine, but yeah, could be copies.

The auction looked the same - same pics, same price, description, etc.
Just trying to warn him
