fr Dr window regulator going or gone

well it seems since we had some major temp drops the window regulator may not have survived. All of my windows roll up and down fine except the dr side. It gors up and down but has a god awful metal grinding sound when the window goes up and down. I took the door apart and thought it may need to be greased or dirt got in the tracks. Lubed and cleaned the tracks. No dice still there. So i took out the regulator to see what weas happening and it seems the cables that pull the window up and down are touching and making this noise. So i know what is happening and all in all its about a 1/2 hour job. My question who has had this problem too and where have you bought the replacement from....? im thinking a junkyard run is in order.

having the exact same problem in the cold, the regulator is for sale on the internet all over the place. However, if you have already fixed it, can you confirm that its only the regulator that needs replacing and not the motor as well? The regulator online is cheap...motor...not so much.

Thanks

My front driver window has been frozen shut for over a week now. People love me at the parking ramps when I have to open my door to get the ticket/pay.

most likely it is a bad motor, take the panel off and roll it up and down to see if the cable is the problem or not. you'll be able to tell pretty quick with the sound of the motor also.
