Early Birthday Present Fun!

So tomorrow is my birthday, and someone decided to give me love and joy a day early. After class tonight I come out, and look, a dent about 12 inches wide and 3 inches deep in my front fnder. the fender flare is tucked in and rubs against my tire on bumps. The metal is kinked and paint cracked. Also, my left headlight got pushed out. Isn't this the best birthday gift ever, yay!

There are no witnesses, no cameras, no note on the door. Gotta love sacred heart university, the apathetic pieces of **** that to here, and the ****ty public safety. By the height of the dent, it was probably a truck or an SUV... so some daddy's little **** ***** probably got a new range rover for her birthday and doesnt know how to drive it.

Anyone know how much fender jobs usually cost, it's too kinked to just be popped out, and there is no damage to the hood or bumper.

Sorry, no pics since i dont got a digi cam

That royally sucks. It might be cheaper to just buy a new (or used) fender and have it painted.

When you go back to school, start looking for your paint on other vehicles. Maybe you'll get lucky and they'll be stupid enough to park in the same area again......

yea, i'd say check for part outs or online for new fenders and just replace it all together. shouldn't be too much to have it painted. good luck. and happy birthday!

The same thing happened to me just before a week of 4 tests....I work at a computer lab at school and I was closing that night. I was at work from 6pm-11:30pm and when I came out, my car was freaking sideways i the parking space. As I was walking toward it, I got confused because I knew I didn't park like that. Then I saw it: the bumper had a huge dent in it and it bent the rear quarter panel/cracked the paint and cracked the tail light. I was so mad. Also it mis-aligned my trunk and it still leaks water to this day even after I got the car fixed. The total: $1600. And now my paint doesn't match and the rear bumper looks terrible because it doesn't align with the rear quarter panels like they did before. God, I hate people that hit and run.

People leave the scene without leaving info cause they are afraid of the consequences, another reason why I hate people.

Probably some girl in an old cavalier talking on her cell phone.

Sorry to hear it though, Just remember tomorrow is your birthday so get drunk and forget about it

I'm glad I don't go to college. At work I always park on the end around with alot of nice cars like bmws and mercedes. We all respect each others cars so I don't have any dents, except one on my bumper which was there when I bought it.

or park next to ricers, they're very careful when they open their doors. that's about the only thing they're good for.

You have to love the misterious dents that just show up. I hate that every time I wash my car it seems like I find another mark or dent.

well, good thing someone else at school hit my car... cuz otherwise i would have been even more pissed at myself. I ended up slipping on the ice and hitting a jersey barrier at 3-5mph today. Luckily I hit it in the same spot where the dent was from school, so no further damage.

I actually had some very similar damage. My car was parked on the hill part of the driveway, and my brother came home to get a package of gum late one night. It was pouring rain when he left, and when he backed down the driveway, he scraped his left rear end on my front left quarterpanel. All in all, it was about $1000 to get it fixed. That was the most expensive pack of gum he's ever gotten!

stupid question: are 2000-2001 fenders the same as 2002-2003? cuz i know the bumper and headlights are different, and i found a black fender at a junk yard for 125$, but it's from a 2001.
