kaboom

couple weeks ago i went to mcdonalds to pick up some food. ordered some sandwiches and two large cokes. got the bag of food, and as the lady was handing me the tray of cokes, the cardboard tray bent back, and both cokes went tumbling. grabbed one, but the other one took a bad bounce, cap popped off, and the thing exploded like it had an m80 inside it. kaboom, 32oz of coke all over the interior of my 5th gen. coke in the back seat, ceiling, found ice cubes under the floor mats...

raced home and sopped most of it up with towels. then (fortunately we own a steam cleaner) i went over the interior. took about 2 hours to get it all up, detail the interior. cleaned the leather about four times, but cloth would have been worse. as it was the leather didn't soak in the soda - where it dried it was sticky, but left no marks or remnants.

now though, as the temperature is dropping, i've noticed the buttons to my heated seats are hard to move - like they have sticky syrup in them. does anyone know if these buttons are easy to pop out? i don't want to risk scratching the surrounding area by trying to pry them out, if they aren't meant to pull out.

The buttons do pop out, you might have to get you finger under them and pop them out, like maybe pull up the console a bit to do this.

Definetely sounds like "coke" syrup in there!

Now I got a good idea since you brought that up about a bomb like explosion, this is something I might have to rig up for next 4th of July.

I don't have much experience with the MAXs yet but I do with other cars. I used to be an installer. All buttons do pop out with minimal effort. Sometimes it helps to have a pick set. I have a set from SnapOn ($20) and from Sears ($10)...might be able to find a set at your local parts store...
