Hi there,
I purchased my 2000 SE Automatic about 2 weeks ago for $5000.
It has every option. Also, I am not sure if the owner did this but the car has "stillen" badging on the sides and back. It came with Stillen Intake, Exhaust, Strut Brace, and strobe lights so if i ever want to flash like a cop car I can (wtf), and some other aftermarket items. Anyways, in 2 weeks i have replaced the alternator (thanks to this forum telling me about the brake and battery lights on at the same time), power steering belt, tires, rotors, brake pads, allignment, and its looking like the suspension will be next. I got what i paid for- a neglected 2000 SE.

nice
Thanks for the input guys.... this gives me a better idea of the going prices.
Some people obviously did WAY better than others, it obviously depends if you got it privately / from a dealer, and how good a negotiator you are.
Here are some stats I just ran:
For a 5-year old car (That would be a 2003 right now), the average people paid was just a little over $10,000. (This is only cars with 0 - 100,000 miles )
For a 6-year old car ( 2000 ), the average was $11,200
LOL @ sample size
Looks like somewhere in the $10k range is the sweet spot.
The best deals I saw were:
5 year old car, 40k miles, $11,225
4 year old car, 42k miles, $11,000
6 year old car, 56k miles, $10,250
So, I'm guessing if I look for a 2003 SE with AVERAGE miles, I can get it for something like $10,000 to $10,500. With low miles, around the $11,000 mark.

2001 SE
I just picked up an 01 black on black SE 5 speed with 100k miles for $6,200. Beautiful car but come to find out it needs a new differential . Either way after the repair I am still ahead of the game. I love this car and hope to drive it for another 100k miles.

bought mine on dec 11. 2006 at a car auction in manheim pennsylvania...
2002 SE auto fully loaded except for navi of course 72,000 miles not a scratch on it for about $13,000 out the door...the only bad part was that i needed to get the rack and pinion replaced which cost me an arm and a leg and pretty much tells me that the car was a beater for someone. Overall i am satisfied but i did find out that it was probably smacked up every which way but didn't have any damage to the chassis. Unless you know alot about cars yourself and can check it out yourself find a good price and buy it! No mechanic is going to be an thorough as you would be for yourself and if they're not going to be thorough then you might as well get it at an auction or from a private seller.

I bought mine october 07
2002 GLE w/ 55k for $12,500 w/ TTT
Clean, one-owner, and immucalate condition. I had the dealer do a pre-purcchase inspection on it and it was damn near perfect. Fluid needed to be flushed thats about it.
Private dealer agreed to pay for maintenance items and keep the price locked at $12.5K and i got it for a steal.

I got my 00 SE 4AT for 13000 including taxes and it had 70k. It was in near perfect shape no dents or scratches. Paint was still deep in color. Perfect interior except it was a smoker's car...no biggie to me though. A little pricey but i feel it's in great shape and looks great compared to some 5th gens i've seen around.
