i had thought about this too because it looks better.
it may work on a 5.5 but my only concern was the fact that those keys do everything since you dont have to but the key in to start it. so it has a chip and other stuff to work on a 6th gen. go ask a dealer if they can program it.

the only problem i see with that, is the fact if you can get the key programmed. you would have to take it out of the I-Key fob every time to use the key. i know that the 07 up Maxima and 07 up Altima I-Keys will not work with one another. the main reason i think it is not going to work is the key fob is a different frequency.

hmmmm, interesting points. I'll check it out some more, but if we can get just the remote part to work and not touch the immobilizer chip then I would think we'd be in business. I'll pick one of if I happen to see one dirt cheap or try another fob. I can see how the I-Key part would pose a problem, but all I want are the buttons to work. Will update if I find more info or something else that looks as good and works.

If anyone has this, try this programming method. I've found a few minor different methods, but this seems to be the most universal.

There's this one
Almost the same but with some more timing info. I.e. must do such and such withing 5 seconds. That piece of information seems to be missing from yours.

I also believe that to be the case, I wish I had one of these lying around so I can mess with it a bit, maybe take out the main chip and swap it in here or use the old internals and swap them if they are roughly the same size?
Not sure on the size difference since I never actually say the new fobs yet.

Defenitly a good looking fob though.

I picked one up fairly cheap on eghey. Will mess with it and see what I can do. If it doesn't work out I'll just resell it. No harm no foul.

The method posted by Deckdout2 worked just fine for my Altima. Thanks man! Had an extra key-fob laying around from my automatic Altima (traded it in, forgot to give them over) and the one that came with the car originally had broken. So I just went out, did the 6 key in & out, blinked twice, put the key to ACC and pressed the button, nothing happened this time.. but I then opened the door and played around the with the remote. It did it everything. Opened, locked, alarm, opened windows, opened all locks by pressing the unlock button twice. THANKS!

the way we program the I-keys at work are. the 07+ Altima's you need consult 3. The 07+ Maxima's require Consult 2. considering u can not use the altima's I-keys on maxima's or vice versa. our best bet would be to try the Maxima's I-key.

i have a couple spare 07+ altima I-Keys at work.I will try to see what happens.
