What exactly is the RT CAT anyway? Is it a high-flow cat or a test pipe?

I noticed a slight gain in the mid end... nothing dramatic.... I have a y-pipe though

 

so would you say it was a good buy or a bad buy? i can do with out it?

 

y-pipe first... then if you want, you can get it... but you could do without it...

Y-pipe fo sho!! Some people have mentioned that the RT cat will help with the drone sound of a y with cat back. But never really heard anyone going on how it gives them extra power. I was going to get it but not going to waste the money.

 

yeah with the money for the rt cat, i could get a cai or something...

 

if it is a choice between CAI and rt cat, definitely get the CAI

 

The cat should help muffle some of the droning.

it made the exhaust note a little deeper than it was with the y-pipe alone... but I have a stock b-pipe and muffler....

 

RT CAT = Random Technology (brand) Cat Converter = flows better than stock

Test pipe = straight pipe to replace stock Cat (car has no cat now, extended b-pipe)

Nope, it made my Stillen muffler quieter (is that a word or is it more quiet?).

 

So is replacing the cat if it is working fine, so are most of our other mods....

well, I'm just fustrated with all the confusing laws that differ in every state. Plus I do think it's important that people out there know they might get ticketed for mods they do.
