I have the HKS exhaust on my 4th generation, not sure if they are the same as the 5th.. It has a nice deep throne at idle but not really loud.. It's just deeper.. The Y-Pipe will bring you more noise.. I've read the gains for the exhust is between 3 to 5hp.. If you have a SE, you probably wont see much gain since the exhuast already has that free flowing system..

Well according to most dynos and what not, most like 90% of mufflers dont do jack except give you more noise.

Now The Greddy, I dont know about it, I have not seen an actual dyno on it.

But I know that alot of the mufflers that are sold for like $100 or less, like the ones sold on eBay are all for noise. Now on our 2K+ max, I believe some of these universal mufflers will actually reduce you low end. This is because Nissan has designed a variable pressure muffler, which means it keeps the low end of the engine with a good amount of power by controlling the back pressure on the muffler.

I agree ... I have the mag as well ... 4 hp ... & u wanted 2 know about sound?

It depends on your preference ... I didn't want loud .. so I got the HKS ... my initial reaction was **** ... this is way 2 loud ... but trust me ... you grow to love it very quickly ... now I want a custom b-pipe w/ no resonator so it'll be louder!

It just looks better (IMO) than the Greddy ... there are way too many big bore exhausts out there so this is a nice change ... plus .. it sits flush with your bumper (the stock one is a couple inches behind the muffler) ... so it looks sweet ... check out my first link to a site in my sig & click on files & look for the video ... you mite b able 2 c & hear my car ... it's the first car revving ...
