by aftermarket projector lens you mean one off of ebay? i don't know if you researched it and made your decision alreay, but those ebay projectors have horrible output and light dispersion.. i've never seen them, but i hear they're worse than HIDs in stock housings

Reverse polarity...that's what I had to do, I had this same set up. Key word 'had'... decided to go back to stock. You're gonna have to aim the lenses low or else the lights are gonna blind everyone because as its been stated many times on here the output is scattered everywhere!

Yes it is entirely possible to do. I have been using HIDs in my projectors since 2006 with no issues. I have had a 35w kit and currently a 55w kit installed in my projectors. Just make sure you aim the beams low on the ground by turning the two aiming screws on the back of the housing 10-15 rotations. You will notice that the cut-off from the lenses is actually very nice with the high output of the HID bulbs.
In response to your question about wiring...there is no special wiring required...I dont know what some people here are reffering to reverse polarity because I only see this as a way of making the lights NOT work.
Unplug your OEM harness (the 3 prong one) and slide the small metal tab for the power wire (coming from the ballast) into one of the "side" slits in the harness and slide the ground (black wire from ballast) into the "top" slit.
If you need more help PM me.

You can wire a HID bulb to work wherever you put it. But if the projector is designed for halogen bulbs (like the projectors that come on the ebay headlights) then you should know that they are not good. Halogen projectors have a big "hot spot" in the middle and therefore don't light up the sides of the road as well. OEM projectors have even light dispersion over the entire beam. In addition, halogen projectors have more glare above the cutoff line which is more distracting to other drivers.

What does you installation instructions say to use! I was talking to someone yesterday and his Camry has H11's! So are you saying the bulb itself is to long to fit inside the projector lenses housing? So the bulb base won't set flush on the housing base? I would confirm with the projector lense manufacture what bulb design to use via email!
