Need help identifying a Max sound.

Hey guys.. I have a squeeking sound when i turn the wheel about 2 rotations to the left.. It doesnt make a sound when i drive straight or when i make a left which is wierd..... Any ideas?

Can it be the power steering going bad?
OR is it probably just a belt that needs ot be replaced.

Thanks for your help

2001se, I'm experiencing the same problem on my 03 SE. I had the belts changed last Nov and about 2 wks ago I noticed a squeal when I turned full left or right.

I suspect its my belt (hope) but in the meantime I'm going to monitor it and will have it looked at if it gets to be prevalent in more turning or driving situations.

PS belt might just be a little loose

Yeah, I was really leaning that way myself, especially since there were no issues before I had it replaced. Thanks.

you do not want the PS belt to go out while driving 70 on the highway...its sucks...especially when a chunk of the belt blows out the PS pump seal and fluid is sprayed all over the engine bay...that a cheap repair
