My OEM battery finally gave out
After not driven my car for six months, that I pulled out battery six months ago, til over the weekend, I put the battery back in, put fresh fluid on all things, brake, transmission, anti freeze, oil, new filter...etc... and I find my battery is completely discharged, so I had to get my battery charged up, then put it back in and the car started up for a few minutes then the battery went kaplut, I was like huh, now I learned the battery finally lived out it's life, since it was the OEM since I got my Maxima new, now I head down to Pep Boy and put an engerizer battery since it's the cheapest, damn I had no idea other "higher" end cost over 100 bucks, as to why??? but since I got it for 80 bucks with the "$10" core return, I wonder how much the original Nissan battery really cost, since I like the "maintance free" battery on the Nissan.

I just got an optima redtop a couple of days ago for 120 with my discount at work. I'm happy with it, so far.
You could have gotten the cheapest one at advance for 60 bucks, 45 if you know someone who can hook you up with an employee discount

The "higher end" batteries are over $100 because of their design. Not aesthetic design but functional design. The optima class batteries are completely maintenance free and they can be mounted in any position. Not to mention they normally outlast standard batteries. Instead of using acid/lead/water. They use a gel and a spiral core (I forget what the material is). They are worth the money in my opinion. They'll probably outlast how long you own the car.
