anyone ever buy from Star Nissan in New York City?

I'm thinking of buying a 2001 Maxima from 'Star Nissan' in Flushing(Queens). Anyone have any good or bad experiences with this shop? Any input is appreciated.

They threw me out...

as I went in there quite late and they didn't like the price I was offering. The manager was keen to close the dealership, and simply didn't want to negotiate. I don't know why he did that because I was going buying two maximas that night...

Didn't like the way they treated me...

..when I called about a test drive on a 2K. Guy made it seem like if I wasn't ready to buy immediately after the test drive, I was wasting his time. I called back and gave the sales manager hell, then I went down the road to Beiner and bought my car there instead!

I was originally going to lease a 2000 SE from Star Nissan. It was a Grey Lustre base model SE with no options; I go there to pick up the car and finalize the paperwork at night and am kept waiting for a few hours. During this time, I watch other customers cars being driven into a lighted portion of the delivery area. My car remains outside in the dark in the lot. My stepfather walks outside to look over my car and notices the whole left rear quarter panel is full of scratches that look liked someone "keyed" the whole car. I go out with the salesman and say I'm not taking the car like this and to get me another one.

He flips out saying it is my fault(!) since the car had to sit on the lot for a few days while I got insurance and that I was responsible! Meanwhile, I never had signed any papers; I only left a deposit on the car. He also claims that this car was "special ordered" since it is a 5 speed. Then the sales manager comes out and says I can bring the car back and the body shop will fix it. I said that no way will I buy a car that is damaged and needs to be repaired in a body shop. I ask for my deposit check back. It was magically put into the safe and no one has the combination. I end up leaving very pissed off and having to cancel the check.

The next day, my stepfather goes back to the dealer and gets my check back. The guys over there were kissing *** trying to act all sorry over what happened. I filed a complaint with Nissan and received 100 dollars of free service. I ended up getting another Maxima at another dealership in queens.

you guys to come to okc

i bought my y2k1 max almost two months ago. yesterday i took it in cause the paint was chipping from the hood (i heard this is typical), i was surprised. they're still kissing my ***, its just like the day i bought my car. they touched it up and gave me a nose mask for free! (i think cause i bought foglights and a chrome exhause finisher), if you know anyone that lives in okc, tell them to go to bob howard nissan.
