HELP.....CAR STALLING OUT AND IDLEING LOW
Sup guys i have a 2001 maxima ae edition 5SPD.I changed the IACV and the ECM Car starts up and runs fine for like a hour. Then the idle starts to drop a little to 600 rpm.a few minutes later the idle will drop below 500rpm to 0rpm and jump back up Almost cutting off. Then finally will cut off after a couple stop signs or lights. If i try to start it from the on position it will start but stall right away. But if i turn the key all the way to the off position then turn it on it starts up fine. But 10 minutes later it will start acting up again....I have no service engine lights and no codes came up in the history. My mechanic cant figure it out he even adjusted the idle and still the same problem.Any one have a idea???Im thinkin its the MAF
I can almost guarantee you its your MAF. I have an AE 5spd, and I went through the exact situation about a month ago. Coming up to stop lights I would put it in neutral and let it coast, then RPMs would drop, and eventually it died. Mine never threw any codes either. It even did this to me in the middle of a turn, ie I lost power steering until I could get it restarted. I did some research on here and thought that it was the IACV, but instead it was the MAF. I ordered one from Dave B and voilia! Fixed!
sounds like a fuel related problem, I would hook up a volt meter to ur maf and see if it is droping hard before the car shuts off if it is than its the maf or some sort of vacuum leak like said previously! Check the vacuum levels and see if they are fluctuating? if not then check the spark plugs? other than that maybe compression check each cylinder!
Well, they changed the IACV once, so maybe that should have told them not to change it again, since, well, tat option seemed to be eliminated. Perhaps it is a vacuum leak, have they checked vacuum yet?
