Exhaust Build

Does anyone have a pic of the megan muffler or any other dualtip muffler of the inside looking through the tips or inlet or can someone describe to me what the inside of their Dual tip muffler looks like. Im starting my catback build and would like to see what the different layouts inside of dual tip mufflers are.

This will probably spread out between 2 or 3 months and then a sound clip if it sounds good.

So...what exactly makes that muffler rice??? The sound, the welds, the tips size, the overall size? Just curious.

Im just starting with that muffler if i dont like it ill try something else but i dont think it will sound to bad when im finished. Thats good that its not that big i dont want a big muffler its probably ricey when you just weld it on to the stock setup but im using it in a custom setup on a budget but i am going to take advantage of resonators if necessary.

Why do you say its to small is that a personal preference its bigger than stock I just want a little sound and real tips and again just a test and if it sounds good when ive completed it other people on a budget can have a budget catback.

See ya gonna have to trim your rear valance in order to get your tips to clear the bumper opening! They're to far apart and to wide! Hopefully you were able to locate a 19" Muffler cause 14"er's are too small for the Maximas!
Personally, all you needed to do is buy some single round slant cut tips (2.5" 0r 3"), and cut the OEM tips back a little, then center the SS tips over the cut Oem on the muffler rear plate and tack weld them here and there! WaLa! I did this with Borla's 2.5" SS round slant cut to beef up the look a little! Without sacrificing the OEM trick muffler's quietness and power combo!!!

Its between that and the stock muffler.Which ever sounds better im probably going to xat racing in tampa to have the work done. I don't want to big a muffler and that one is pretty close to stock size. The tips are the same amount of space apart as stock only thing might be the issue in the 3in diameter but then for megan and cattman mufflers the owners would need to trim their bumpers also but it doesn't seem like they have to and this muffler is smaller than both of those 14" verses 22" length i believe.

I'm running a Cattman 00-03 Rear Muffler Assy and the Muffler body is exactly 19" in lenght, The tips are 3" diameter, Total diameter of both tips side by side are 6.25" and the tip centers are 3.25" apart! And none of the 00-03 Maximas had to trim our rear valance, just the 01 20 Anniversary Maxima and the I30/I35 family! That's why their exhaust tips curved downward, valance offered no openings! Also your tips are centered in muffler body height wise, where as the Megan and Cattman tip are closer to the bottom of the muffler body as is the OEM!

I'm not sure if Cattman even sells the "Cattman Combo" anymore! I tried getting one from about 3 yrs ago and he didn't have anymore! He does sell the JWT POP filter but I think it's cheaper @ Courtesy Nissan! Berk offers an Intake like the Cattman Combo for some extra $$$!

Hey, to the guys running headers w/ stock muffler.
I have cai, cattman headers, race cat, and stock catback. I like the quiet sound of it, but it sometimes has a 'buzzy' kind of sound.. Anybody else experiencing that? Up next for me is to get an aftermarket b-pipe , hope that maybe helps the way it sounds...
