2k2 sunglass holder fits in 2000/01!

Just got my month-old backorder of the 2k2 sunglass holder. It will indeed fit in a 2000 and 2001 model. However, it is not an EXACT fit.

Did require me cutting a little bit of the headliner material away with a SHARP Exacto knife. Doesn't look like there will be any concerns of fraying or anything - actually looks like Nissan cut the material with a knife to make it originally fit!

Just take your time and do it right. Little material on both sides, as well as a little bit on the front edge (Nearest the windshield.) Much better design than the tab on the 2000, but I will say my shades fit much better in the original 2000 holder.

To each his own. It was only like $10 for the holder.

Whats so fancy about a 2K2 holder versus my 2K1 holder?

A few members complained about the "tab" that opens the holder, saying it was very cheap looking (I agreed.) Everyone seemed to like the 2k2 holder when they saw it, which was the kind that you, well, push open (It's held closed by two tab inside; push on the cover, it pops open on springed hindes.)

Was a much cleaner design all around. So, I ordered one for fun since it was cheap to see how it would work out. There you go!

I'm covering my existing holder with brushed aluminum. If it doesn't work out or look good I will order up a 2K2 one.

The cupholders on the 2k2 have a better design also, is it possible to order that part as well, or is it part of the center console ?

Yeh, saw that one too. Really liked that. But it looks like you'd need a complete console. Don't quote me though, someone should look into it.

I would rather try Maximas holder which comes with the sunroof controls and sunglasses to see if it works.
