Quick question about the stupid cam position sensor
YES, I searched for this answer with no luck.
I have a definite cam position sensor malfunction that is paralyzing my 2002. I see that there was a recall and would have to assume that mine was never brought in for this particular recall. Even now, in 2008 will any nissan dealer HONOR the recall at no charge? Do they have any way to look up if the recall has been done previously?

Yes, they can look it up by VIN, if there was a recall.
Yes, they will honor a recall at no charge. People are still going in for the Z31 injector campaign, 20 years later with no problems.

recall: campaign#03V455000 Nov 17 2003The dealer will honor the recall depending on your VIN. If your vehicle fall in that listed range, then your gonna get some free work! But I think they will only change the defective one! If not, don't waste your money or time, call ABC Nissan @ 18003731066 and order all your sensor for that peace of mind! They're very easy to change Bank 1 is the rear bank with cyl 1,3,5 and bank 2 is the front bank with cyl 2,4,6. Good luck!!!

Sorry for brining an old thread back but for us guys who rely on the search function, complete answers are very helpful:
Just had the stealership complete the recall on mine. I had no codes since I owned it until installed a Fidanza flywheel/Exedy clutch last month. Anyways, the stealership installed the following parts at no charge:
23731-6j90b (Cam PS, right)
23731-al61a (Cam PS, left)
23731-al60c (Crank PS)
They wanted $93 to scan the ECU and reset it. No thanks.
Unfortunately, I reset the ECU, completed the IAVL relearn, and the light came back on I can tell you, w/ the light on, it's killing my gas mileage.
