Completed!! Shock Sensor install on factory alarm! One day early!
Yes guys and gals, the install was successful. The car now has a shock sensor and it works great!!!! I will take a video of it actually working soon, but for now, the HOW-TO page is done with pictures and step-by-step how to install one for yourself!
Enjoy!

P.S., this will work on 4th gens as well...just read the instructions.

Nice job RUSS!
Thanks, I've been wanting to do this for awhile, but never got around to it.
I have one tip/question. Instead of drilling a hole through the firewall to tap the HOOD switch, it would be easier to just tap ONE of the HOOD/DOOR/TRUNK wires coming from the SMART ECU right where you installed the shock sensor.
On a 2000:
Door Switches Wires: 28(Red/White), 29(Sky Blue), 40(Red/Light Blue)
Trunk Switch Wires: 38(Purple/Yellow)
Hood Switch Wires: 27(Yellow/Black) Same one you tapped.
On a 2001:
Door Switches Wires: 1(Sky Blue), 2(Red/Light Blue), 3(Red/White)
Trunk Switch Wires: 13(Purple Yellow)
Hood Switch Wires: 6(Yellow/Black)
I can write out MOST of the SMART ECUs' plug wire colors if your interested, so people can figure out which ones they need to tap.
Again THANKS for the good work!

yeah...
me too... all I have is a bloody thumb, more scuffs on the top of my HID housing (removal/reinstall on driver side is hard!), a few missing hours, and STILL flashing HIDs to show for it

Where is the smart ecu device at? I could not locate it. I might redo that one wire this weekend then.

Here's a PDF file(had to zip to attach it) of the location.
There are TWO plugs. The one closest to the driver is the lower numbers, hence 1,2,3... You can match the numbers with the pins by the wire colors.
If you need more, PM me.
awesome man
I have to say you always have the most through write ups. Very well done. I would like to get this done before winter.. Do you know what temperatures that shock sensor can operate at?? I don't realy want to drill a hold so I'll wait till you figure out exactly what wire to tap.. then i do
...
...
Ohhh
Ohh Don't forget to change your page title, looks like you were using your Clear corner page to get started
I always forget myself...
BTW-I think your site is awesome just needs some cosmetic work on the front page.. What have you been using to code? Straight code or a proggy.
lemme know.. i very busy but i may be able to help ya out a bit

I listed both. I have ALL the 2000 wire colors and ENOUGH of the 2K1-2K2 wire colors.
It's very simple to use a few wire colors as reference and know which pin is 1, 2, 3, etc...

i didn't see that before...Has anyone done this? does it work? if the sensor goes off, does it turn off after 30 seconds and re-arm or what?
