Car Covers

i need to get a car cover for my max b/c our neighbor's cat likes to sit on my car does anyone know if their are any problems with car covers? is it ok for rain, do they leave scratches, is there anything i should know before spending $100? i know this sounds dumb b/c the covers are made to protect the car, however, so are bras, nosemasks and they have their problems; so is there something wrong with these covers that i'm just not thinking of?
thanks,
matt

secure your cover

Make sure your cover is secure especially if your area has high wind. The one tie down cable is not enough. If the cover comes off your car, the cable can rotate up and rub the paint off your car. Covers are a pain in the a$$ if you plan on using it everyday.

Take pics of the cat on your car and threaten to take the owners to small claims court unless they keep the cat inside.

my neighbors have twelve or thirteen cats, they all hate each other so only one is on my car at a time--i don't think wind'll be a problem--how are covers a pain in the a$$, do they mess up paint, leave marks, ect... and do i really need to lock it down or will it be secure for 10-15mph winds
thanks
matt

ignoring the cover theft issue, 10-15 should be ok. Just watch the corners, that is usually where is comes off first. I had bungee cords on my old cover in front and back.
