Bad Start-Ups

Does anyone sometimes have bad start ups? Sometimes when the car has not been sitting long, it doesn't start up right away. It cranks for like 2 seconds, then starts up. It sounds really stupid coming from a car like this. I feel like an idiot when people are around and it does this. Anyone else have this problem, and can it be fixed?

If I remember correctly this is documented in the owner's manual and is to be expected.

Is it documented in the manual?? I believe the manual tells you what to do if the car won't start, but it is not normal. It happens every once in a long while to me. I just let it sit for 10 seconds and try again.

This is normal. Every car does this.

When in cold temp., the gas does not get to the engine's injectors fast enough, or the gas is slightly thickened.

Some people claim it is the Nissan Immobilizer not disabling fast enough or too much interference. I've had this too, but I try to let the key sit for a second or two before I start the car and it seems to almost always work fine.

If it bothers you too much, try having your key reprogrammed.

Isn't it great to leave for a while and come back to find out that people are asking the same questions as they were when you left?!!!

I experienced this problem before, but try the following 3-second procedure:

switch to position 2 (Acc) for one sec, then to 3 (On) for one sec, then to 4 (Start).

Somebody suggested this solution on this forum about 7-8 months ago(can't remember who). Works everytime for me since then (Hot or cold temperature).

The problem also may be due to Nissan's immobilizer system (well, that's what that guy said).

It happens to me too once in a while, but is usually solved by the description above... Should be nothing to worry about.

putting the key to ON for 1 -2 seconds allows for the fuel pump to prime and build pressure up

I always do that, but the immobolizer does something weird and doesn't let the car start normally.

This usually happens to me when I stop the car and try to turn it back on... within 5-10 minutes.

Yea, that's what I was trying to say. It only happens when the car has been turned off for about under 10 minutes then started up again. Starts up right away when cold, and shoots up to 2k rpms.
