I haven't really been paying attention to my mileage until recently (i wonder why?
).
From what i can recall, i've been able to get approximately 31 mpg on this, with cruise, all highway. This was when my Max was in its younger years.
Now, with 113k+ on the odo, i wanted to see if she could still do it.
The trip is +3mpg optimistic, but this is still pretty cool. Had to accelerate like a snail, but at least i know it's doable without having to give up the max for an econobox.
First pic is at 65mph

Second pic is at 50-ish.

If you are referring to the drop in RPM's that is a significant change for that amount of speed. My cobra had 4:56 gears in it. I think it idled at like 3000 lmao. 1st and 2nd gear were practically useless
mine show 38.? mpg everytime i take long trip. but i only get 31 to 32 mpg. trip is BS. fill it up go on a trip when its empty feel it back up and count it by how many gallons you fill up and do the math with how many miles you drove.
Never trust the trip computer. It is worthless when it comes to gas mileage!!
I am not sure why Nissan even put it in the car.
Fill up the tank and reset your trip computer....drive until close to empty....fill it up again and see how much gas it took for the gas pump to stop. Then divide the miles traveled (from trip computer) to gallons you just put in the tank.
Very simple and 100% accurate. You'll be disappointed to see that your 3.5L, Auto Maxima does not give you 30MPG+.
No way ... unless you drive with 55mph all the time.

Aww, c'mon guys, you honestly think i didn't know that? I was one of the first people to post (way back when) about the inaccuracy of the trip comp
On long, casual, road trips where my only stop is to get gas, i do average 31+ mpg.
On average, my trip comp is off by 3mpg compared to standard calculations.
