Maxima is one of the few midsize sedans left in its price range thats assembled in Japan. Was this a big factor for you guys when you bought the max? Is there really a difference where the car is assembled ? Just want your opinions guys.

I bought mine cause it's one of the only sedans you can get with a v6 and stick...

yes.. it influenced my decision..

I had an american built honda and it might as well been a dodge for fit and finish, but engine was good.

No. Its my 3rd Max (1st gen, 3rd gen, now 5th gen) and each one has been a great car that has lasted for quite a long time. Im hoping the 5th gen does the same for me as the 3rd gen did.) I would buy an American made car be it domestic namebadge or foreign, if I found one I liked. The Max has always held hold of my heart as a superb car (given Nissans ability of making a car with a few odd quirks).

What he said...exactly, lol. My 91 Accord was built in Ohio but the engine came from Japan, guess what I never had a problem with? My buddy's 92 Accord was built in Japan and it has held up better than mine did.
