Some Lighting Updates for my 03' Max SE

Converted my original fog bulbs to some Yellow HID's that I purchased from operatic.

Mine is the Max with the stripe, that I am getting rid of soon... Also dropping it with Tein S-Tech springs with Illumina Struts...

On with the Pics!

(Mine is on the RIGHT)

Where do you get reasonably bright LEDs? I got some for my headlights (the little light in the corner) and despite the package claim about them being real bright, they aren't. At least they are a closer match for the HIDs.

Kudos to the lighting update but have to say I'm not a fan of the courtesy LED lights. The light from the LEDs is too harsh IMHO.

The lights in my corners at the moment are still original style filament bulbs, but the LED's that I have installed already are from a member on ebay... I will look up the name and post it soon...

Polarg M4's match the headlight better than any LED I've seen...that plus PIAA super plasmas in the fogs makes the front look very uniform at most angles. (the PIAAs and Polargs have a tiny hint of purple whereas the headlights have a tiny hint of blue that's only noticeable at certain angles)

Here's a picture:

CustomLowz - Is your Maxima the one with the rear side markers that are body colored and have "Maxima" carved out in them? If so I've seen your car around and a couple of times and it's really nice. I'm in Colonie.

Did you get them from an auto parts store? i tried several from auto parts stores and they were dim and too blue... the good ones i've found have been online at v-leds.com and autolumination.com.. autolumination will give you white LEDs with more of a slight blue tinge to them.. v-leds will give you LEDs with a purer white light

do they? you know, i might try polargs in my parking lights because any LEDs i get tend to have a dot of light instead of a full light like halogens in that lens, and the dot just doesn't look right... but as far as the color, autolumination LEDs match stock HIDs almost flawlessly

The LED's (especially the SMT variety) are very bright from:

You have to get either heat sink fitted, high flux or SMT other wise the LED's are incapable of handling the power surges from starting the car. Our cars were not intended to use LED's so you have to make sure the ones you use are fortified. I think autolumination.com also had a part that you could use to protect the LED's from power surge but I cannot find it on the site anymore.

Yeah I did these same mods about 6 months ago and my lights are still working fine! I find the LED's better than the Piaa's and Polarg's that I used b4! Gp Thunder really had some nice pictures and illustrations that inspired me 2 replace the courtesy door lights, rear licence plate lights, and dome lght and the front marker lights...I found that they matched the 8000K headlight/foglight setup I'm currently running!!!

Lets compare LEDS! *Custom boards*

To the OP, I like your mods, but from my experience, I don't expect the LEDs to last long... I went thru several bulbs, and LEDs meant for 12v don't last on a vehicle that isn't.

Is that a standard lifespan on these lights or was yours an isolated issue?

I was considering doing this to myself but I definitely would want the lights to last longer than a month...

My question was for 0260Z, I realize that the subject is LED's...My LEDs are no where even that brilliant. So I'm pretty sure they're HID or PHOTOSHOP! Alot of people are HID and will adapt them to any and everything, from side marker lights to backup lights etc.....

I have the Big 3 plus more with 0 gauge and i still have slight dimming issues

And ^^^^^ *cmax03* the light looks brighter because of the camera...then again i believe those custom boards use 12 high output leds each.
