This sounds real stupid but...

Ok well ive done about 1000 starters in my life but for the life of me i cannot see the starter under the engine...Where is it located on a 2000 maxima 3.0? I feel real stupid asking this question ...and yes i know i should but its driving me nuts,help me out

Not sure about a 3.0...but on a 3.5 it's right next to the engine on the right side.

It is under all these tubes and wires. If you have the stock air box still in it might be hard to find. If you take the air box out you will see the starter like plain daylight. Her is a pic.

Just follow the positive battery wire back to the source. On a 3.0 it will be under the air box to the right like so (blue circle):



You will have to remove the airbox to get at it.

No problem and trust me everything on this car require moving and manuevering to get to with the exception of the air box.

Can someone tell me why my car seems to shift differently now that my starter has been changed?

Personally I don't think it has anything to do with you changing out the starter.

It seems to me i can feel the car pushing me a bit in my seat until 3k rpm then between 3k and 4500 it dont feel anything i see the level go up and speed increasevery slowly until it shifts and it shifts a bit harder..what would cause this? Tranny on the way out?
