added new muffler to the ride
Well i added a new muffler to the max. i had a test pipe in place of the cat and the resonator was removed and a straight pipe welded in and stock muff. I had that for about a year now and the flange before the original muffler started to rot so it needed to be fixed. I got a flowmaster 50 series suv perf muffler from my friend ( free) and had the rot fixed and the muffler welded in with nice dual tips from Autozone (3a racing) completeing the look. Looks real nice and the tone needs to get some taking used to. With the rot before the car was not load but very noticeable and it actually didnt sound bad. Now with the new muffler in i like how it sounds. Going thru the gears.. only up to 3-3500 it has a nice f1 type sound similar to the fx35 just louder. Taking off even at a slow to moderate starts its very noticeable but not obnoxious. While cruising it has a deep tone to it. No fart can, civic, racer boy sound just a tuned sound. Ive only driven it from the shop home and that was 45 minutes so i need to get used to the new sound but very pleased. Ill add pics soon.
what info would you like. How it was welded? How it sits? How long it took?
Lets see.. Perfect welds
sits nice and tight
took about an hour

Ppl do post without having an agenda to give a how to. Sometimes its just to say this is what i did and how it looks.
Also to SOOnerFan.. imposter or new... So because you dont like it we all should change back to stock? Its not your car so i dont think i need to impress you. If you like it, cool.. if not.. i wont lose sleep over it.
Ill try tomorrow to get the sound clip. It might rain so it may have to wait till thurs. TO irish and sooner no need to check back for the soundclip since this is a "stupid kid" thread.

To everyone else thank you
the muffler is 1 inch thinner and about 4 inches shorter. the tips are 3.5 inches oval and are chrome. the muffler had both offset inlet and outlet on the same side.
The muffler had to be angled slightly to have the tailpipes exit correctly. Everything fit good, sits higher then oem, no banging or noises. todays a crappy day so maybe tomorrow i can snap a pic of under the car to show how the muffler sits.

yea the vid i will post tomorrow after i take it. The muffler is as stated a flowmaster series 50 suv perf muffler. GOt it from a friend so all i can say is its 4in tall about 10 inches wide and about 15 long. so i had some more time to drive and listen to it. At start up and take off it sounds real good. any gear at 2200 and then giving gas has a nice deep sound, but not muscle car just racey. im not sure any more about the fx sound but you can listen and tell me what you think. at some spots it sounds ok and has a slight drone but not bad at all. ill do all i can tomorrow so you can have a good idea how it sounds.. All in all i like it for 1) it doesnt sound ricey and 2) it actually feels like it has a eurosport sound such as an s4 or such

i remember the last time someone claimed their exhaust sounded like some infiniti, they just abandoned the thread after people asked for a sound clip. hopefully this wouldn't be one of them.

ok here is the startup. Couldnt get a good one of driving. The ping sound is my flex pipe. The mesh has broken off and is sitting on the pipe. Let me know what you think
