Someone told me I can use a valve cover from I think an 04 max on my 02 and that its much cheaper than the one for an 02. Can anyone advise what year can I use.

Sounds right. Check prices on both. The A34 unit is cheaper and can be used.

 

Make sure you call DaveB and give him your car info, that way you're assured of getting the right parts.

 

Which means?

The VIN # / PN wont match since the VC is from an A34. But the part will fit and is cheaper.

True the parts #'s won't match since you have an 02. Let me explain what I meant for you. Call DaveB tell him that you have an 02 Maxima and you want to do the 04 valve cover upgrade. He'll ask you a few questions about your car and if you want certain items; ie: gaskets, plenum (I believe) then you're set.

 

whats the difference?is the 04 valve cover made out of metal not plastic

I'm getting my rear VC replaced under warranty tomorrow: Oil in Plug #5.

Trying to get the dealer to use the A34, but I don't think it's gonna work..oh well -- at least they're replacing it under warranty.

I'd do the A34 if I was paying for it....
