Quick question...

I just installed a berk intake on my 2k2 and I was wondering if I still needed the air inlet? Saw some pics of it still there, but others without. So, kind of confused on that aspect. One more thing, I noticed that when I am accelerating it sounds like there is a leak some where but it's only when the pedal is first pushed down. It's kind of like a mild hissing noise. I looked over and over and cant find the source of the noise. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. I'll take a pic of what it looks like, and it will be a little dirty, just for a heads up, but if you notice anything. Alright, thanks!

All intakes without sound deadening will make that sound. Some louder than others. It's normal.

Good to know. How exactly would I go about sound deadening the intake? And do you happen to know about the air inlet piece?

when i installed my Berk, i left the air inlet. it's really not going to do anything, i just convince myself it helps guide air to the filter.

you'll get used to the hissing noise. it's normal, unless the line you connected to the pipe is not on all the way.

Yeah everything is good, and it's not continuous. I will just convince myself as well about the air inlet. Thanks for the help!

My Injen Air intake has more of a turbo/whistling sound @ 1/2 to 3/4 throttle! I like it it's not really loud but noticeable....

i took mine out i read that over a certain speed the scoop doesnt function because the air is moving over it too fast and cant get caught
Something to do with air pressure verse speed i think
took mine out on my 2k3 and on my old 2k
so much cleaner without it and makes working on the motor a little easier
