Need some help fixing my car.

I need some help fixing my father's 2002 Nissan Maxima so I can sell it. My father isn't around anymore and my family is in need of the money that the car could bring us if sold. The car has been off the road since 2007 due to no one driving it. prior to taking it off the road MAF blew and this may have affected the intake, I think. I just put a brand new battery in the car. It turns over when you start it but the immediately dies. Does anyone know if that could be the case? Would the MAF being blown affect the intake?
I understand that these parts and service would be expensive but I figure i'll get the money back once the car is sold, I just don't want to spend the money and learn that it was a waste. does anyone In the Springfield, Ma. area work on these vehicles or know anyone who does? I would greatly appreciate any help or advice given and love to hear some responses.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

My car should be viewable on the website, let me know if its not.

You may want to check the local forum. But first things first, try and get the trouble codes pulled. that will give you a much better place to start at.

The "blown" MAF can't mechanically damage the intake.......in case that's what you were concerned about, but it's the primary sensor for the fuel metering/control system. As NmexMAX stated above the best thing to do is to see if there are any valid fault codes. I say "valid" because the battery has just been reconnected and the engine hasn't even run.

have you tried to start it up with stepping on the gas till it's warmed up? sensors can be clogged.

1.) DL the FSM (free)
2.) Retrieve codes
3.) Match the codes in the FSM and diagnose & treat them as stated in the FSM
4.) Report back
