For the past few days my car has been really noisy and shaky at start up. It seems to go away after warming up for a good 10mins or so. Today it was really bad, after leaving the house I lost probably 50% of the cars power. Needless to say it was a short trip I got home kept it running for a bit then the shaking stopped. I looked under the car and noticed the cadillac converter is where most of the shaking seems to be coming from. Is it just going out? Could this have anything to do with the hot weather?

 

a stuffed cat could explain the loss of power. Not sure but the shaking could be from the bad cat causing too much back pressure???

 

Yeah my car sounds pretty rough too. The problem goes away after warming up so what the hell could it be. Something loose?

 

Almost sounds like a bad coil to me.....but if it goes away after warming up then it doesnt make much sense unless the warming up can get it working again or something. What does the car sound like when it does this? Does it sounds similar to an exhaust leak near the y-pipe area? Thats what my '99 sounded like when I had a bad coil.
