Ashtray Stuck Shut!!
I threw my ipod in my change tray to hide it and shut the door. Now it won't open!!!
Every post I've read says it requires removing the ashtray (while open) to get the center trim out...but I can't do that!
Any Ideas?

that sucks
Maybe you can get in from the Shifter area. Atleast enough to get your hand up and try rattling it a bit and get a flat head screw driver and a cloth and while rattleing it try prying it out.

Only reason I put ash tray in the thread title is thats what the thing "Kinda" is. In reality, it is the felt change tray on my car.
Anyways, took the glove box off...took off the rightlower dash panels...reached all up in there. Nothin!! The Tray is not accessible from the back.
Ended up Prying the F*$ out of it until I could slip a screw driver in to dis-lodge the ipod. It got wedged between that upper lip of the outer casing and the tray itself. iPod works, has some cool battle scars, and the Max is back to normal. The dash removal was a waste of time.
I did take the tray apart after I could get to it to see what I could have done... If this happens to anybody, the best thing they could do is find 2 very strong yet thin prying tools, slide them in on each side of the tray, and pry the casing apart far enough for the tray to come off its hinge pins. THIN is the key word there, they designed the car well, low clearances!!
Thanks to those that replied.
